FACULTY APPLICATION

You may know that our churches have different altar frontals for different seasons of the year.

​

At Christmas and Easter we use one that is gold or white - the idea is that gold is a colour of celebration.

​

The current altar frontal is very drab, and does not bring to mind the idea of celebration, and we would like to replace it with a second hand frontal costing £180, which is to be funded from a legacy we received in the will of a former parishioner.

​

If you have any objections to this to must contact the Diocesan Registrar, whose details are in the formal notice below.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that we are applying to the Consistory Court of the diocese for permission to carry out the following:

Disposal of an old white/gold altar frontal. Introduction of a replacement (second-hand) frontal and superfrontal, which will require modifications in order for it to fit the High Altar in St John's Church. Introduction of a pulpit fall (to match). As described in the following documents:
(A) two Statements of Significance;
(B) Statement of Needs;
(C) photomontage ('mock up') of what proposed altar frontal and superfrontal will look like at St John's;
(D) four photos and webpage print-out from Antique Church Furnishings of replacement frontal and superfrontal;
(E) eight photos of church interior;
(F) close-up photo of old white/gold frontal (to be disposed of).

(If changes to a church are proposed, a copy of the petition and of any designs, plans, photographs and other documents that were submitted with it must be displayed in the church or at another place where they may be conveniently inspected by the public and if the petition is submitted through an online system, those documents must also be publicly available for inspection online.)
