If neither of you have been married before then you are entitled to get married in the church in the parish you live in. 

You can check which parish this is by going to www.achurchnearyou.com and entering your postcode.

If you live in Godstone, South Godstone or Blindley Heath then you can marry in any of the three churches.

You can also marry in any of the three churches if you can show that one of the following criteria applies to you:-

That one of you: 

• has at any time lived in any of our three parishes for a period of at least 6 months, or

• were baptised in one of our three churches, or

• was prepared for confirmation in one of our three parishes, or

• has at any time gone to normal church services in one of our churches at least once a month for a period of at least 6 months, or

That one of your parents, at any time after you were born:

• has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months, or

• has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months, or

That one of your parents, or grandparents:

• was married in the parish
